The Bundesverband Druck und Medien eV (bvdm), founded in 1869 as the German Printing Association , is the central association of the German printing industry with its seat in Berlin (District Court Berlin (Charlottenburg); VR 31245). According to its own statements, the BVDM represents the positions and goals of the German printing industry as an employers' association , political trade association and technical professional association and supports its members in the areas of economy, collective bargaining policy, labor and commercial law, education, the environment, technology and research as well as press and public relations.

Regional associations

The bvdm is supported by eight regional associations in which the printing and media companies are organized as members:

  • Verband Druck und Medien Mitteldeutschland eV
  • Association of Print and Media NordOst eV

  • Association of Paper, Printing and Media Südbaden eV

Tariff policy

As an employers' association, the bvdm concludes nationwide collective agreements for commercial employees in the printing industry with the ver.di union . The general collective agreement regulates the basic working conditions such as working hours, bonuses, annual performance and vacation. In 2014, the parties to the collective bargaining agreement agreed to start negotiations on a reform of the collective bargaining agreement.

The general wage agreement and the wage agreement regulate the payment of industrial workers and trainees. In the 2016 collective bargaining round , the collective bargaining parties bvdm and ver.di agreed on a wage increase of 3.8% in two steps.

The regional member associations of the bvdm negotiate salaries and other working conditions for employees in the printing industry with ver.di at regional level.

Memberships

At EU level, the association is organized alongside Fogra through INTERGRAF and internationally within the framework of FESPA , the global federation of 37 national associations for screen printing , digital printing and textile printing . In addition, the bvdm is one of the ideal sponsors of the world's largest trade fair for print media, drupa .

The Federal Association of Printing and Media is the publisher of the Altona test suite .
