International Religious Freedom Report

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Report on International Religious Freedom is a report on the quality and extent of religious freedom in all foreign states prepared on behalf of the United States Department of State and published by the department.

The Freedom Report is a report by the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom or a subdivision of the Ministry (Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor) to the United States Congress , which is presented to it annually.

The report contains numerous details and is based on information from the US embassies in the individual countries as well as from various non-governmental organizations, but few examples are given. An overview of the religious demographics of each country is followed by a status report on religious freedom based on an examination of legal requirements, possible state restrictions, possible cases of abuse and violation of religious freedom, possible cases of forced conversion, etc., and notes changes compared to previous years.
