International Society for Computer Aided Surgery (ISCAS) is a global non-profit organization promoting scientific and clinical progress in computer-assisted surgery and related medical measures.

aims

  • Promotion of basic technological research and clinical research in this field,
  • Promotion of an interdisciplinary approach, the exchange of information and cooperation among the members of the association,
  • Contributing to the promotion of technology transfer from industries related to computer-assisted surgery and related medical interventions,
  • Participation in certain educational programs for scientists, engineers and healthcare professionals as well as for young researchers in the field

Meetings and Conferences

In order to achieve the above-mentioned goals, meetings with contributions from specialists from medicine, engineers, physicists and computer scientists from universities, clinics, research institutions and industry are organized on a regular basis, for example during Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery (CARS; Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery) ), an annual scientific congress, initiated in 1983 by the Berlin Senate .

ISCAS accreditation

The aim of the accreditation procedure is to evaluate, improve and publicly recognize programs or funding institutions for research and training in computer-assisted surgery (CAS) in order to improve the quality of teaching, learning, research and professional practice.

To promote young scientists and in recognition of outstanding scientific work, the company awards the following prizes and grants:

Members

Active members

Anyone from the professional fields of engineering, health care, scientific or industrial areas in connection with computer-assisted surgery and associated medical interventions can become an active member.

Associate members

Any national or international association with similar goals can apply for associate membership and become an affiliate, as can any educational institution, industry, company, or organization active in the field.

Honorary members

People who have distinguished themselves through special achievements or who have contributed significantly to the development of the association can be appointed honorary members (without any obligation to pay membership fees).
