For example, it was possible to have recognized musicians from all over the world as well as qualified Bach interpreters from both German states perform together here until 1989. The composers Arthur Honegger , Frank Martin , Othmar Schoeck and the musicians Pau Casals and Bruno Walter were initially active for the Bach Society .

For many years, the oeuvre of Johann Sebastian Bach has been juxtaposed with romantic and modern music at the Bach festivals .
