International Hegel Association

The International Hegel Association is a scientific association for the promotion of research in the sense of the thinking of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel . It was founded in 1962 by Hans-Georg Gadamer in Heidelberg and currently has around 250 members. Its president was Axel Honneth between March 2007 and June 2017 . Dina Emundts has been its new President since June 2017 . The office is located at the Philosophical Department of Heidelberg University .

The association organizes a Hegel congress in Stuttgart every six years . His publications appeared as supplements to the Hegel studies until 1980 ; since then they have been published as an independent series by Klett-Cotta Verlag . Since 1970, the International Hegel Association awarded every three years together with the city of Stuttgart International Hegel Prize .
