international socialist left
The international socialist left (ISL) was one of the two organizations that emerged from the Fourth International stream in the United Socialist Party (VSP). The other was the Revolutionary Socialist Bund (RSB), with which isl merged again at the end of 2016 to form the International Socialist Organization (ISO).
ISL wanted to continue the tradition of the International Marxists Group (GIM), the International Communists of Germany (IKD) and the Left Opposition of the KPD (Bolshevik-Leninists) . That counted itself to Trotskyism ; their seat was in Cologne .
The isl was established in the 2,001th The continuity with the predecessor organizations GIM and IKD was represented by Jakob Moneta , among others . According to the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, which observed isl as left-wing extremist in 2006 , the organization had around 60 members at that time and was active in around 15 cities and regions. She stands for an "undogmatic open Marxism". Individual functionaries would actively participate in the WASG and the anti-globalization movement . Even after the merger of WASG and Linkspartei.PDS to form Die Linke , isl members wanted to work there as long as they did not have to give up their positions.
After the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2010 , isl member Wolfgang Zimmermann became the parliamentary group leader of the Left.
Together with the “ Revolutionary Socialist Bund ” (RSB), isl formed the German part of the reunited Fourth International . Both organizations announced in January 2015 that they wanted to unite.
The isl did not publish its own newspaper, but supported the association for solidarity perspectives in the publication and distribution of the socialist newspaper (SoZ), which appears monthly. Twice a year she published the isl pamphlets, which were distributed free of charge.
