In the Caribbean island state of Jamaica , around 43.3% of the population used the Internet in 2016 , which is slightly below the global average of 51.7%. The top-level domain of Jamaica is .jm .

In Jamaica, less than half of the population used the internet. The most popular use for the Internet in late 2010 was receiving and sending emails ; around 77% of respondents said they had done this in the past twelve months. Second is the use of social networks with 72% and educational use as the third with 65%. The majority of users are between 15 and 34 years of age.

The largest telecommunications providers in Jamaica are LIME , Digicell and Claro .

Internet freedom and censorship

The Kiribati government does not restrict access or remove any content. Furthermore, there are no credible reports that the government is illegally recording or storing Internet traffic.
