In Ukraine , around 44.1% of the population used the internet in 2016 , which is below the global average of 51.7%. The top-level domain of Ukraine is .ua .

Access and Dissemination

The Internet access rate is growing steadily, with the poor and destroyed infrastructure in parts of the country being a problem. According to the International Telecommunication Union , usage increased from 18 percent in 2009 to 41 percent in 2013 to around 42 percent in 2014. The Pew Research Center says that 51 percent of all adult Ukrainians "occasionally" use the Internet or own a smartphone . 73 percent of users are online every day.

According to Akamai , the average internet speed in Ukraine is 9.3 megabytes per second ( Mbps ).
