Internet Party of Ukraine

The Internet Party of Ukraine ( Ukrainian Інтернет Партія України ) is a political party in Ukraine . It was founded in 2007 and officially registered in 2010. She became known through her top candidate in the parliamentary elections in Ukraine in 2014 , a person who appeared under the name and in the uniform of Darth Vader . The Internet party is based in Odessa .

Party chairman Dmitry Golubov won a direct constituency in Odessa in the 2014 general election. It was erected by the Petro Poroshenko Block .


The party advocates electronic government. Bureaucracy is to be abolished and paper to be completely replaced by digital media . In addition, the party advocates a complete computerization of the country. It also calls for a simplification of the tax system: seven instead of the current 98 types of tax, a flat tax income tax of 25% and the abolition of VAT . Genetically modified products should be banned.


The Internet party was founded in 2006 or 2007 by Dmytro Holubov , a Ukrainian hacker , as the first "Internet party in the world". The official establishment took place on October 1, 2007. After the first party congress on March 1, 2009, the party was officially registered in 2010.

The Internet party ran in Ukraine's parliamentary elections in 2012 in one constituency.

In the 2014 presidential election in Ukraine , the party nominated Darth Vader as a candidate. However, the candidacy was not accepted by the electoral authority because the candidate did not want to reveal his real identity. But Darth Vader ran for mayoral elections on the same day in Kiev and Odessa . In Odessa, Vader received the fourth best vote. In 2013, Dart Vader proclaimed himself mayor of Odessa.

In the 2014 general election, the party received 58,197 votes, representing 0.36% of the valid votes. The top candidate was "Darth Vader", along with other people with pseudonyms from the Star Wars universe as candidates. The chairman of the Internet party Dmitry Golubov ran for the Petro Poroshenko block for a direct mandate in Odessa and entered parliament .
