Katja Wittfoth (born May 4, 1971 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

In 1978, at the age of seven, Wittfoth joined the girls' team of Wolfenbütteler SV , which had been in existence for two years, and went through all age groups until she was 21.

Then she switched to TSV Fortuna Sachsenross , for which she was able to gain her first experience in the senior sector in the then two-track Bundesliga in the group north and contributed to the fact that the team finished the 1992/93 season in fourth place.

After returning to Wolfenbütteler SV, she first played in the Lower Saxony league, from which she and her team emerged as champions two years later and rose to the Regionalliga Nord for the 1995/96 season .

For the 1998/99 season switched to Bundesliga newcomer WSV Wendschott , she played 13 point games for this before she moved to Bayern Munich in the Bayern League the following season and contributed to the championship at the end of the season. While her club fought for promotion to the Bundesliga in the group south of the promotion round, she returned to WSV Wendschott, for whom she also played in the Bundesliga from 2000 to 2002 - 36 times in which she scored a goal.

From 2002 to 2004 she was again a member of FC Bayern Munich, for which she played in 19 Bundesliga games and scored two goals. On November 3, 2002 (8th matchday) she made her debut in a 3-2 win in the away game against SC 07 Bad Neuenahr and on May 4, 2003 (18th matchday) she succeeded in a 3-0 victory in the away game against TuS Niederkirchen scored her first goal with the goal to make it 2-0 in the 38th minute. She played her last Bundesliga game for Bayern on December 7, 2003 (10th matchday) in the 1: 3 defeat in the away game against Hamburger SV in which she was substituted for Kim Rogers in the 65th minute .

From 2003 to 2011, she worked as a trainer for the second women's team at FC Bayern Munich, TSV Tettnang and Eintracht Seekirch , most recently from 2018 to 2020 for Eintracht Braunschweig, which she coached in 39 games.
