Intimate shaving refers to the partial or complete removal of pubic hair by shaving . The term "intimate shave" is often used synonymously for all forms of pubic hair removal .
Form and spread
A distinction can be made between dry shaving with a razor and wet shaving , which is usually carried out in the shower or with the help of shaving foam .
The intimate shave is a cultural practice with a long tradition, in numerous cultures around the world women and men remove pubic hair by shaving. While pubic hair (as well as body hair in general) was quite common in Europe up to the 1990s , since then the removal of pubic hair has increasingly established itself as an aesthetic norm. In addition to other methods, shaving is mainly used for this.
