Inventari del Patrimoni Arquitectònic Català
The Inventari del Patrimoni Arquitectònic de Catalunya (German: Directory of the Architectural Cultural Heritage of Catalonia ) is part of the Inventari del Patrimoni Cultural Català (German: Directory of the Cultural Heritage of Catalonia ) the directory of listed buildings and other real estate in Catalonia . It was introduced in 1982 and is run by the Direcció General del Patrimoni Cultural (German: Generaldirektion des Kulturerbes ), an authority of the Generalitat . The legal basis is the Monument Protection Act of 1993 .
The directory includes buildings, building complexes, parts of buildings and sites that are of artistic, architectural or historical interest. The Catalan monument protection law distinguishes between three levels of monument protection:
- Bé Cultural d'Interès Nacional (BCIN) as the highest level
- Bé Cultural d'Interès Local (BCIL) as an intermediate level
- Further cultural monuments as the lowest level.
