Ioannis Pavlos Papanikolaou Greek Ιωάννης Παύλος Παπανικολάου }, also John Paul Papanicolaou (*; † February 14, 2010 ) was a Greek entrepreneur and shipowner .

Life

Papanikolaou was a Greek shipowner. Among other things, he acquired the motor yacht Christina O from the estate of Aristotle Onassis . As a child, he and his parents were guests on the Christina. So he bought the yacht in 1998, had it restored and converted into a charter yacht.

In 2001 the government of Montenegro sold the half-wrecked motor yacht Galeb for $ 750,000 to Papanikolaou, who had the yacht extensively restored in a Croatian shipyard. After the yacht was declared a national heritage by the Croatian authorities, the city of Rijeka finally acquired the ship in 2010 .

In 2010 Papanikolaou died of cancer.
