Ionuț Andrei

Ionuț Andrei (born December 20, 1985 in Schitu Goleşti ) is a former Romanian bobsledder .

Andrei started bobsleigh in 2002 and has been a member of the national team since 2004. In 2006 he started in the European Cup for the first time as a pusher for the Romanian bobsleigh. In 2007 he took part in a world championship for the first time . In St. Moritz, the four-man bobsleigh driven by Nicolae Istrate landed in 23rd place. At the Junior World Championships in Innsbruck in 2008 Andrei reached tenth place. In the same month the Romanians finished 20th at the World Championships in Altenberg.

At the 2009 Bobsleigh World Championships in Lake Placid, Andrei finished 18th with the Romanian four-man bobsleigh. In 2010 he took part in the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver . In the Whistler Sliding Center , the Romanians reached 15th place. At the Bobsleigh World Championships 2011 at Königssee they landed in 23rd place. In 2012 Andrei tried his hand at the Junior World Championship in Innsbruck as a pilot in the two-man bobsleigh and finished in 22nd place.
