Irène Aïtoff

Irène Aïtoff (born July 30, 1904 in Saint-Cast-le-Guildo , † June 5, 2006 in Paris ) was a French pianist .

Life

Aïtoff was the daughter of the Russian émigré David Aitoff and half-sister of Vladimir Aïtoff . In 1918 she graduated from the Paris Conservatory , where she studied with Alfred Cortot . Later she did not pursue a career as a concert pianist, but worked mainly as a vocal coach .

She was hired by the conductors Karajan , Solti and Dutoit . She had an appearance on May 30, 2002 in Claude Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisande at the Opéra-Comique in Paris .
