The Iran University of Medical Sciences ( Persian دانشگاه علوم پزشکی و خدمات بهداشتی درمانی ایران, English Iran University of Medical Sciences , IUMS for short ) was one of the most renowned Iranian medical universities with around 7000 students (SS 2008). At the time of the merger, the university was ranked fourth in the nation's rankings for academic research.
It was located south of the Hemat motorway between the Nuri and Shahid-Tschamran motorway in Tehran.

On October 29, 2010, the merger with the Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Health Services ( Persian دانشگاه علوم پزشکی تهران, English Tehran University of Medical Sciences , TUMS for short) and the university dissolved the following day.
With the exception of a few of the health services, the employees were integrated into the TUMS. The others were assigned to the Shahid Beheschti University of Medical Sciences and Health Services .
