The Shahid Beheschti University of Medical Sciences and Health Services ( Persian دانشگاه علوم پزشکی و خدمات بهداشتی درمانی شهید بهشتی, English Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences ) is one of the largest and most renowned Iranian universities with around 13,000 students (SS 2008) . It is part of the Shahid Beheschti University (SBU), which includes other non-medical faculties.
history
The university was founded in 1960 as part of the National University of Iran , the name of which changed to “ Shahid Beheschti University ” after the Islamic Revolution in 1983 because of the attack on Mohammad Beheschti . The university became independent in 1986 as part of the restructuring and reorganization of the SBU . In 2007, the SBU and SBMU signed an agreement to be listed uniformly by the Institute for Scientific Information as Shahid Beheschti University. Shahid Beheshti University, MC therefore refers to Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and Health Services ( German Schahid Beheshti University for Medical Sciences and Health Services ) .

The SBMU not only fulfills its teaching and research obligations, it is also responsible for the medical care of four million people in the north and northeast of Tehran and the surrounding area ( Damawand , Firūzkuh , Waramin , Pakdascht etc.).
The college comprises eight faculties, twelve university clinics, six hospitals and seven district health centers. As a result, the SBMU also enjoys an international reputation as a training facility and research center for doctors and scientists.

The Shahid Beheschti University of Medical Sciences and Health Services consists of eight faculties in which students can choose from different areas of medical sciences:
