The Hable-Rūd, one of the most important rivers in the Elburs Mountains, flows into Firūzkuh and flows into the Dascht-e Kavir , a deep basin without drainage.
The city's industry specializes in the manufacture of glass and cement.
Firūzkuh is one of the few cities in Iran where fish cultures are raised. This is possible because of the rich water sources and cool temperatures.
