Irek Airatowitsch Saripow ( Russian Ирек Айратович Зарипов ; born March 27, 1983 in Sterlitamak , Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic ) is a Russian biathlete and cross-country skier . With four gold medals and one silver medal, he was one of the most successful participants in the 2010 Winter Paralympics .

Saripov lost his legs in a traffic accident in 2000. With the support of the trainer Irina Gromova, he started competitive skiing in 2005. In 2007 he won the International Paralympic Committee's cross-country skiing world cup with eight victories and took second place in the Biathlon World Cup . In the 2007/08 season of the Nordic Ski World Cup, he won both the cross-country and biathlon trophies.

In 2010 Saripov took part in the Winter Paralympics in Vancouver and won a total of four gold and one silver medal. He was one of the four most successful participants in the event and shared third place in the medal table with German participant Gerd Schönfelder .
