The 10th Paralympic Winter Games took place from March 12 to 21, 2010 in the Canadian city ​​of Vancouver , the largest city in the province of British Columbia . The Paralympics are the Olympic Games for people with physical disabilities and took place after the 2010 Winter Olympic Games . Germany became the most successful nation with 13 gold medals.

The venues for the games stretched over a 120-kilometer zone from the shores of Richmond to the downtown area of ​​Vancouver. Existing and new competition venues should be used for the competitions. For the second time Canada hosted the Games after the 1976 Summer Paralympics in Toronto . The opening ceremony was held at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver and the closing ceremony was held in Whistler .
