The 5th Summer Paralympics took place from August 3 to August 11, 1976 in Toronto . The city was chosen to host after the Summer Olympics of the year were awarded to the Canadian city of Montréal .
Participating Nations
41 nations took part in the Toronto Games. However, some countries had withdrawn their commitment due to South Africa's participation.
