The XXVI. The Winter Olympics are scheduled to take place in 2030. Although the candidacy phase for these Winter Games has not yet started, some countries, including Japan with Sapporo , the USA , Argentina , Spain and Georgia , have already made contact , according to Thomas Bach , President of the International Olympic Committee . In November 2019, some companies and private individuals from Thuringia also started an initiative that Germany and especially Thuringia, Saxony and Bavaria should apply to host the games.
