Iceland sentan athlete to the starting line at the 2010 Winter Paralympics in Vancouver . This is the country's second participation in the Winter Paralympics. Iceland last took part in the 1994 Winter Paralympics in Lillehammer 16 years ago.

The standard bearer at the opening ceremony was the alpine skier Erna Friðriksdóttir .
