Irena Ihorivna Karpa ( Ukrainian Ірена Ігорівна Карпа , born December 8, 1980 in Cherkassy , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian writer, journalist, singer, actress and television presenter.

Life

When she was a child, she lived with her family first in Ivano-Frankivsk , then in Yaremche in western Ukraine. There she learned painting in the local art school.

In 1999 she began studying English and French at the National Linguistic University in Kiev . Her first novel was published in 2000. In 2003 she finished her studies with a master's degree. She then toured Southeast Asia for a year.

Since 1999 she has performed as a soloist and lyricist with the music ensemble “Faktytschno sami”.

In 2006 she worked as an actress in two films: in "Autism" (Ukraine) and "Kompott" (Russia).

From 2005 to 2008 she worked as a presenter for the ICTN television station, and from September 2007 to August 2008 for MTV Ukraine. In autumn 2013 she performed at the Euromaidan in Kiev . She was a founding member of the Maidan Council .

On May 17, 2008 she married the Kiev journalist and writer Anton Friedland, after the divorce in 2009 she married the American businessman Norman Paul Hansen and had two daughters. Since 2018 she has been married to the artist - author, composer and singer - Louis-Cyrille Trebuchet, who comes from an aristocratic family.

In mid-October 2015 it was announced that Irena Karpa would soon take over the management of the culture and information department of the Ukrainian embassy in Paris.

Karpa's photos appeared in “ Playboy ” and “ Penthouse ”. Her younger sister Galya is also a writer, co-founder of the art magazine "Asch".

Murder call

In October 2014, appeals from an Irina Filatova appeared on the Internet, who demanded that Karpa “must be sentenced and shot under martial law”. The reason for this is a cartoon in which Karpa tells the semi-fictional story in which a beautiful woman "does politics and nude photos in Eastern Ukraine and occasionally falls ill with rabies".
