Irene Strict

Irene Strenge (* 1948 in Hamburg ) is a German lawyer and non-fiction author.

Strenge studied law from 1968 to 1972 in Tübingen, Lausanne and Hamburg. In 1992 she did her doctorate in Dr. jur . Since 1976 she practiced as a lawyer.

Since the 1990s, Strenge has emerged through a series of historiographical publications, most of which are in the area of ​​modern German history. Thematically, they revolve around the time of the end of the Weimar Republic and the early Nazi era. Among other things, she published a study on the policy of the Reichswehr Ministry under Kurt von Schleicher as well as an edition of the surviving personal notes of the head of the defense department of this Ministry Ferdinand von Bredow .

She is married to Hans-Peter Strenge , an administrative lawyer and district office manager (1984–1995) in Hamburg-Altona, and has three grown children.
