Ireti Amojo

Ireti Joanne Amojo (born June 9,  1990 in Berlin ) is a German basketball player .

career

Amojo played at various clubs in her hometown of Berlin (BBC Berlin, TuS Lichterfelde , Berlin Baskets). In the meantime, the 1.77-meter-tall winger played as an exchange student at Auburn-Riverside High School in Washington State .

Between 2009 and 2013 Amojo studied and played at Washington State University . Due to two cruciate ligament ruptures, she had to take long breaks from injuries during this time. After her return to Germany, she joined the Bundesliga team ChemCats Chemnitz in the 2013/14 season , followed by three years (2014 to 2017) at the Herner TC, for which she also played in the Bundesliga.

In the 2017/18 season, Amojo played for TuS Lichterfelde in the 2nd Bundesliga, while she was employed as a research assistant in the economics department at the Free University of Berlin . From 2018 she strengthened Alba Berlin , also in the second division.

National team

Amojo took part in European championships with the German national team in the age groups U16, U18 and U20. At the U16-B-EM in 2006 she was the best German scorer with 14 points per match. For the senior national team, she played 21 international matches between 2014 and 2016.
