from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Iris Albrecht (born February 18, 1967 in Quedlinburg ) is a German table tennis player . She won a title at the GDR championships.

Life

In her youth Albrecht played table tennis for the Saatgut Quedlinburg association . Together with her club mate Eva Kummer , she won the doubles championship at the 37th GDR championship in Leinfelde in 1985. The Mitteldeutsche Zeitung reports: the double Kummer / Albrecht seemed almost unbeatable for a while.

Iris Albrecht was a member of the GDR national team for four years. However, since the GDR isolated itself internationally in table tennis from 1972 as a result of the competitive sport decision, Albrecht hardly had the opportunity to make a name for himself internationally.
