Iris Kloppich

Iris Kloppich (born January 2, 1953 in Dessau ) is a German historian and since January 23, 2010 chairwoman of the German Federation of Trade Unions (DGB) Saxony .

Life

Iris Kloppich has been Deputy DGB Chairwoman in Saxony since 1994 and is also chairwoman of the administrative board of the Allgemeine Ortskrankenkasse für Sachsen und Thüringen AOK Plus . She began her work in the trade union movement at the end of the 1980s in the GDR trade union federation FDGB, where she was responsible for youth and sport in the Dresden district. The historian is married and has two children.

Since 1994 she has been Deputy Chairwoman in the DGB regional district of Saxony . On January 23, 2010, she was elected chairwoman of the German Federation of Trade Unions in the state of Saxony at a district conference in Chemnitz.

Iris Kloppich was a member of the 14th and March 18th, 2012 of the 15th Federal Assembly on June 30, 2010 . It was elected at the suggestion of the SPD.

On May 30, 2015 she was awarded the Saxon Constitutional Medal by State Parliament President Matthias Rößler "for her commitment to the trade union movement in Saxony and her tireless commitment to the interests of workers" .
