Iris Spieß (born September 13, 1963 in Bremen ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the Bremen citizenship .

biography

education and profession

Spit studied after high school chemistry at the University of Bremen and doctorate Dr. rer. nat. This was followed in 1998 by a research project at RST Rostock space travel and environmental protection GmbH and from 1999 to 2000 a laboratory activity in the field of medical analysis. In January 2000 she became the managing director of the Bremen State Representation of the Association of German Engineers (VDI) .

politics

Spieß was initially a member of the CDU . From 1999 to 2003 she was the spokeswoman for the CDU advisory group in the Schwachhausen district . In February 2002 she became deputy chairwoman of the CDU district association Schwachhausen and in November of the same year she was promoted to chairwoman of the urban district association. In 2003 she was elected to Bremen's citizenship for the CDU. On November 22nd, 2010, she left the CDU parliamentary group and joined the SPD parliamentary group.

She was a member of parliament until 2011 and was represented on the Science and Research Committee.

Other offices

Spieß is Vice President of the Lions Club Countess Emma and Vice President of the National Association of Fencing, Youth and Sports.
