Irma Urrila

Irma Rauha Kristiina Urrila-Andersson (born Urrila ; born January 29, 1943 in Helsinki ) is a Finnish opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Urrila was trained in Helsinki by Aino Elenius , in Milan by Carla Castellani and in Essen by Clemens Kaiser-Breme . In 1964 she made her debut at the Helsinki Opera as "Mimi" in La Bohème . She stayed there until 1970 and then went to Oslo .

She is married to the conductor and director of the Oslo Opera House, Per Åke Andersson .

She also became internationally known for her role as Pamina in Ingmar Bergman's highly acclaimed film version of The Magic Flute ( Trollflöjten ) from 1975.
