Clemens Kaiser-Breme

Clemens Kaiser-Breme (born August 8, 1908 in Bochum ; † January 12, 1997 in Niederkassel ) was a German opera singer ( baritone ) and singing teacher .

Life

In addition to his studies, the music and theater studies student took singing lessons from Albert Fischer and improved his finances as an occasional performer at the Berliner Rundfunk. At the advice of the music editors, he finally devoted himself entirely to singing. He made his stage debut in 1931 in Dortmund with a role in the Matthew Passion by Johann Sebastian Bach . In 1932 he got an engagement at the Landestheater Coburg . From 1933 to 1941 he was a member of the Essen Stadttheater ensemble , and from 1942 to 1944 he sang at the Badisches Staatstheater in Karlsruhe.

After 1945 he appeared mainly as a concert and lieder singer, whereby he was particularly fond of Mozart . He taught singing at the Folkwang Music Academy in Essen.

Since 1928 he was a member of the Catholic student union AV Hansea Berlin.
