Irmgard Sinning

Irmgard Maria Sinning (born August 1, 1960 in Höchstädt an der Donau ) is a German biochemist . She is a professor at the Biochemistry Center at Heidelberg University .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1979 in Dillingen an der Donau , Sinning studied food chemistry at the LMU Munich and passed the 1st and 2nd state exams. In 1989 she received her doctorate in biochemistry and worked until 1991 at the MPI for Biophysics in Frankfurt with Hartmut Michel . She then worked as a scientist at the Biomedical Center at Uppsala University . Since 2000 she has been a professor at the Biochemistry Center at Heidelberg University. With her scientific work, Irmgard Sinning has made significant contributions to the understanding of molecular machines.
