Irmgard von Kienlin-Moy

Irmgard von Kienlin-Moy (born August 8, 1908 in Obenhausen ; † March 28, 2003 in Kirchheim in Swabia ) was a German graphic artist, painter and poet.

Life

Irmgard von Kienlin-Moy was born on August 8, 1908 in Obenhausen in Upper Swabia, today part of Buch bei Illertissen, as the daughter of Count Max Moy de Sons and his wife, Countess Elisabeth, daughter of Prince Eberhard Waldburg-Wurzach. She studied from 1926 to 1931 at the painting schools Buchner and Widmann in Munich, from 1931 to 1932 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. From 1933 she was married to Johannes von Kienlin († 1940) and lived at Erolzheim Castle (Wttbg.) The couple had three children. As a freelance artist, she was based in Munich from 1952. She was a founding member of the international Delphic Council in Berlin founded in 1994 and became an honorary member of the association in 1998. In 1997 she became an honorary member of the IDS. On March 28, 2003 she died at the Fugger Castle in Kirchheim / Swabia . She is buried in the family crypt in Erolzheim.
