Irwin Steve Goldstein is an American communications manager and government official.

Life

Steve Goldstein, who grew up in Nashville , Tennessee , received a BA from the University of Arizona at Tucson . There he taught at a high school for five years .

For eight years he served various congressmen as press secretary and chief of staff. Goldstein served in the US Department of the Interior under the administration of George HW Bush .

Goldstein later worked for Dow Jones / The Wall Street Journal as well as for the investment firm AllianceBernstein and the industry association Insurance Information Institute.

For seven years he was Chief Communications Officer at the TIAA teacher pension fund and most recently at BP Global Solutions (Bill Popeleski).

After being nominated by President Donald Trump as Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs and confirmed by the Senate, he was sworn in on December 4, 2017. On December 4, 2017, he took his oath of office as Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs. On March 13, 2018 was performed his recall, having previously publicly a few hours the circumstances surrounding the dismissal Rex Tillersons , the foreign minister of the United States had commented critically (United States Secretary of State).
