Is Pirois
The fountain sanctuary ( Italian Pozzo sacro ) Is Pirois in Villaputzu in the province of Cagliari in Sardinia is, unlike almost all others on the island, the lower part of a nuraghe that was built over the pseudo dome that forms the well chamber. The complex, which was built using precise technology, was built in the Middle Bronze Age around 1600 BC. The atrium is formed by two opposite sloping walls made of granite blocks . A staircase leads down from the entrance to the well chamber. The spring is still active and at certain times of the year the lower part of the stairs cannot be entered because the water level is too high.
