Isaak Wolfsheimer

Isaak Wolfsheimer (* 1782 in Fürth ; † 1845 ) was a German miniature painter, engraver and lithographer .

Life

Wolfsheimer received his first training before 1804 with Heinrich Guttenberg in Nuremberg . In the years 1804 to 1807 he stayed in Paris , where he was a student at the École des Beaux-Arts . In 1805 he made outline engravings on copper after Raphael . Around 1810 Wolfsheimer worked as a miniature painter in Fürth , and in 1820 the Wolfsheimer engraving machine was patented in Munich. From 1838 he resided in Nuremberg again and in 1843 worked as a portrait painter and engraver in Frankfurt a. M. active. In 1845 he took part in the Nuremberg Local Industry Exhibition with some inventions.
