Isabell Hiekel

Isabell Hiekel (* 1963 in Altdöbern , GDR ) is a graduate engineer for landscape planning and a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Brandenburg ). She is a member of the Brandenburg state parliament .

Life and work

Isabell Hiekel studied landscape planning from 1993 to 1998 with a degree in engineering at the Technical University of Berlin .

From 2005 to 2019 she worked at the State Office for the Environment in Cottbus .

Isabell Hiekel is married and has two children.

Political career

Isabell Hiekel has been a member of BÜNDNIS 90 / DIE GRÜNEN since 1990 .

In the state elections in Brandenburg in 2019 , she ran in the state constituency of Oder-Spree III and was elected to the state parliament of Brandenburg via the state list of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen.

Trivia

The official spelling of her first name is "Isabel" with an L. However, she uses her name with a double L in everyday life. Her mother wanted "Isabell" with two Ls when she was born - but that was not written down at the time. It was only when she got her identity card at the age of 14 that the mistake was noticed.
