Isabella of Cyprus

Isabella of Cyprus (* around 1210, † 1264 ) was a daughter of King Hugo I of Cyprus and Alice de Champagne . She was a sister of King Henry I of Cyprus .

During the Lombards War , Isabella and her sister Maria defended Dieu d'Amour Castle against the imperial governor Richard Filangieri in 1232 until they were liberated after the Battle of Agridi .

In 1233 she married Heinrich von Antiochia , the brother of Prince Bohemond V of Antioch , with whom they had a son, who later became King Hugo III. of Cyprus or Hugo I of Jerusalem. They also had a daughter, Margarete , who was married to Johann von Montfort in 1268 . After the death of her sister-in-law Plaisance of Antioch in 1261, she was regent for her son Hugo II of Cyprus .
