Bohemond V (Antioch)

Bohemond V of Antioch (* around 1200; † January 1252 ) was Prince of Antioch and Count of Tripoli from 1233 to 1252.

Bohemond V was the son of Bohemond IV and Plaisance de Gibelet . Like his father, Bohemond V also had a pronounced aversion to the Order of St. John (instead he allied himself with the Knights Templar ) and the neighboring kingdom of Lesser Armenia , with which it was only shortly before his death - after mediation by King Louis IX. from France - came to a peace.

In 1225 Bohemond married Alice of Jerusalem-Champagne , widow of King Hugo I of Cyprus , mother of King Henry I of Cyprus , who was still underage , and pretender to the throne of the Kingdom of Jerusalem .
