Bohemond V (Antioch)
Bohemond V of Antioch (* around 1200; † January 1252 ) was Prince of Antioch and Count of Tripoli from 1233 to 1252.
Bohemond V was the son of Bohemond IV and Plaisance de Gibelet . Like his father, Bohemond V also had a pronounced aversion to the Order of St. John (instead he allied himself with the Knights Templar ) and the neighboring kingdom of Lesser Armenia , with which it was only shortly before his death - after mediation by King Louis IX. from France - came to a peace.
In 1225 Bohemond married Alice of Jerusalem-Champagne , widow of King Hugo I of Cyprus , mother of King Henry I of Cyprus , who was still underage , and pretender to the throne of the Kingdom of Jerusalem . The couple separated in 1227 and the marriage was annulled again in 1229 at the latest. In 1235 he married Lucia von Caccamo-Segni, great niece of Pope Innocent III. , Daughter of Count Paul von Segni . With Lucia he had two children:
- Plaisance (* 1236; † 1261), ∞ I) 1251 Henry I (1217–1254), King of Cyprus, ∞ II) Balian of Ibelin (1239–1277), Lord of Arsuf
- Bohemond VI. (* 1237; † 1275), Prince of Antioch and Count of Tripoli
