The Ischl Tower is a lookout tower in Strzelce Opolskie (Groß Strehlitz). It is located south of the castle park, with which it is connected by an avenue, around two kilometers from the center of Strzelce Opolskie.

history

The neo-Gothic tower was built in 1840 at the instigation of Count Andreas von Renard and is 47 meters high. The Ischl Tower was built on the model of a tower near the Austrian town of Bad Ischl (then Ischl), which is said to have been called the Kolowratturm. It was named accordingly Ischl Tower. In addition, the Ischl Tower was in the area of Mokrolohna .

The Kolowratturm near Ischl was located on the Kolowratshöhe on the Hoisenrad and was built in 1836 by order of the Minister Count Kolowrat, but quickly deteriorated and was dismantled again in 1863. The tower was handed down in a painting by the painter Johann Vincenz Reim (1796-1858).

The tower has not been restored since 1945, which means that it is in poor condition today and some of it has already fallen into disrepair. All wooden additions are no longer preserved.
