The Spyder from the Swabian manufacturer Isdera is a roadster that has been built since 1983 .

technology

The first models still had a four-cylinder from the VW Golf GTI with 102 kW (139 PS). From 1985 the engine of the Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.3-16 was used in the Spyder, now known as the 033-16. In 1987 the 3.0-liter six-cylinder from the 300 E was installed . After four years, this was replaced by the new four-valve six-cylinder, also from Mercedes-Benz. Depending on the model year, these produced from 162 to 170 kW (220–231 hp). In addition, a 3.6-liter six-cylinder from AMG with 210 kW (286 hp) was available in the Spyder 036i from the mid-1990s . A five-speed gearbox in each model ensures power is transmitted to the rear axle.

As a version with 162 kW / 220 PS, the Spyder reaches around 260 km / h and sprints from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.4 seconds. But the first variant with a VW engine also manages over 200 km / h.
