Isidoro Noblía is a city in the Cerro Largo department in eastern Uruguay .
geography
It is located in the north of the department, 15 kilometers from the border with Uruguay's neighboring country Brazil and around 45 kilometers from the departmental capital Melo to the south. The border town of Aceguá is located a few kilometers to the north, connected to the Ruta 8 . There is an official border crossing to neighboring Brazil.
history
Isidoro Noblía was founded in October 1942. By law Ley 13.167 of October 15, 1963, the place was granted the status of a pueblo (town), since the regulation made in Ley 16.312 of October 20, 1992, Isidoro Noblía is a town ( villa ).
Infrastructure
education
With the Liceo Rural de Isidoro Noblía founded in 1987, Isidoro Noblía has a secondary school ( Liceo ). In 2008, 240 students were taught at the school.
Culture
Isidoro Noblía is the venue for the Festival del Arroz (in German: Rice Festival), which has been taking place for the sixth time since 2003. Organized by the rice producers and the local Club de Leones , this socio-cultural event is themed around rice grown in the region . In addition to exhibitions, parades and competitions on means of production, technical and culinary art, there is also the election of Reina del Arroz , the rice queen.

Isidoro Noblía had 2,331 inhabitants at the 2011 census, of which 1,153 were men and 1,178 were women.
