Aceguá is a city in the Cerro Largo department in eastern Uruguay .
geography
It is located in the north of the department near the Arroyo de la Mina on the border with the Uruguayan neighboring country Brazil and the Brazilian city of the same name, Aceguá . Isidoro Noblía is located a few kilometers south of Aceguá .
history
Aceguá was registered as "Pueblo" on December 23, 1941 by Law No. 10.101. On April 14, 1986, the town was granted the status of " villa " by law 15.810 .

traffic
Aceguá is the terminus of Ruta 8 , which crosses the land of Montevideo in the south in a northerly direction. At the border it turns into the Brazilian trunk road BR-153 ( Rodovia Transbrasiliana ), which leads north to Marabá in the Brazilian state of Pará .
