Aceguá , officially Portuguese Município de Aceguá , is a small town in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil . The official estimate of the population as of July 1, 2018 was 4858 inhabitants (2010 census: 4394 inhabitants), who are called Aceguanians. The community area is large in relation to the population, the population density is 2.8 people per km².

The city is located on the Brazilian-Uruguayan border in the immediate vicinity of the Uruguayan city of the same name, Aceguá . There is an official border crossing here. The distance to the northeastern Porto Alegre is 430 km. Neighboring are the places Bagé , Pedras Altas , Candiota , Hulha Negra .
