Isla de Cañas is a village in northwest Argentina in the Iruya department of Salta Province . It is located in the Sierra de Santa Victoria at an altitude of about 780 m on the Iruya River . Isla de Cañas is the administrative seat of the municipality of the same name (Spanish municipio ) Isla de Cañas .
There is a primary school, a secondary school and, since August 2012, a bilingual faculty.
Events
The patron saint festival of San Santiago Apóstol y La Virgen de Fátima takes place on July 25th.
