Ismail Abu Shanab

Ismail Abu Shanab ( Arabic إسماعيل أبو شنب; * 1950 ; † August 21, 2003 in Ghaza City ) was a Palestinian engineer and politician ( Hamas ). He taught as a professor of civil engineering at the Islamic University of Gaza .

Life

Abu Shanab graduated from Colorado State University . Abu Shanab was regarded as one of the level-headed representatives of Hamas and campaigned in the militant movement for the continuation of the ceasefire, which he was instrumental in negotiating at the end of June. He was deliberately killed with two bodyguards in an Israeli helicopter attack in Ghaza City .
