Isochrony (motor skills)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As Isochrony is within the motor , the constant duration of a movement independent of the amplitude of movement referred to. This means that the duration of a movement does not change, even if the deflection increases (e.g. whether you are writing large or small numbers on a piece of paper).

This temporal invariance is achieved by adjusting the intensity of the muscle contractions to keep the duration of the contraction constant and applies to a variety of movements. Isochrony is only achieved in the consolidation stage of motor learning.
