Isolée

Isolée is a pseudonym of the German musician Rajko Müller . He is considered one of the pioneers of the microhouse .

Life and musical career

Rajko Müller was born in Frankfurt am Main , but from the age of seven to twelve lived with his family in Algeria , where he attended a French elementary school. At that time Müller received an old-fashioned home organ from his parents for Christmas, on which he and a school friend began to make synth-pop music. Then they decided to buy a synthesizer, a drum computer and a sequencer.

In the late 1980s, Müller moved away from synth-pop and electronic body music in order to turn to the rock and independent genre. Müller's circle of friends aroused his interest in house , hip-hop and techno in the early 1990s , which eventually led him to record electronic music again. He gave his friend and DJ Andreas Baumecker , owner of the Freundinnen records label , who worked in a record store with employees of the Playhouse Records label, a demo mixtape.

Then Müller's first works appeared under the name Isolée on the Playhouse music label in 1996. He became known to a larger audience in 1998 with his single Beau Mot Plage . His first album Rest was also released on Playhouse in 2000. His album We Are Monster , released in 2005, was listed on Metacritic as the third best album of the year.
