Skilled insulation worker

The insulation skilled worker is a state-recognized training occupation according to the Vocational Training Act .

Duration of training and structure

The training period to become a skilled insulation worker is usually two years. The training takes place at the training company and vocational school . The occupation came into force on August 1, 1997 with the three-year industrial insulator apprenticeship in a joint training regulation . It is a step training , i. H. Industrial insulators and insulation skilled workers initially learn the same content. Anyone who has completed their training as an insulation worker can acquire a qualification as an industrial insulator in another 12 months.

Work areas

Skilled insulation workers produce heat , cold and sound insulation . If necessary, build suitable support and load-bearing structures beforehand in order to then select the right insulation material . They incorporate these insulating materials into the structures and protect the materials from external influences with sheet metal or other materials.

Skilled insulation workers find their jobs in large industrial plants , power plants , in the chemical industry , but also on ships.
