Isoprocess

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An isoprocess is a thermodynamic process in the course of which one of the state variables remains constant. One always assumes that the mass of the system is constant.

A thermodynamic process in which the volume of the system remains unchanged is called an isochoric process. A thermodynamic process under constant pressure is called an isobaric process. A thermodynamic process in which the temperature does not change is called an isothermal process. A thermodynamic process in the course of which the energy does not change is called an adiabatic process . In addition, there are isentropic , isenthalpic and other processes with constant state variables.
